"mate" is a cup of tea

Just to avoid confusion: mate is a cup of tea, not my friend. We are screwing up cups of tea that local people drink from a gourd. :) Here´s a wikipedia article about mate.

Today, we did laundry and went on a tour of the countryside. We´ve decided that Mendoza is a lot like Denver. Mendoza is a dry, arid place next to the mountains with a flat, agricultural area to the east. Sound familiar?

The tour took alongside many of the vineyards in the area and we got glimpses of the snowcappd Andes all day. Unfortunately, we could never get a good vantage point to get pictures. As you can see in the picture above, the tour bus wasn´t always working so well. But, at the end of it all, we had an enourmous lunch in a very small family-run boutique restaurant and headed back to the hostel for a siesta.

Hi mates! Sounds like you guys are having a wonderful time! Question-o-the-comment: What have you been doing for breakfast? What do the locals eat for breakfast? It's a slllllloooooooowwwww night in the ER tonight: Time for food and coffee, papa needs a little pick-me-up.

Breakfast is a quick event here. They serve medialunas (little croisants with a sweet glaze), pastries, and fruit. Coffee, tea. That´s it! Oh! EVERYTHING is served with dulce du leche.
