Long time, no post! We ran out of time to post again in AR before we flew back to Houston. We thought we could use part of our SIX HOUR layover in Houston to blog and load pictures. However, the US is the land of personal laptops, PDAs, and wifi, not internet cafes.
IGUAZU--the falls are one of the most amazing things we've ever seen. They go on and on forever. They are located in the NE corner of AR meeting up with Paraguay and Brazil. The park is set up really well because it allows one to see many different views of the falls: up close, distant view, above some of them, on a island in the middle of them, etc. We walked ALL the paths and a trail through a jungle area. We saw monkeys (no attack this time), birds, butterflies, nutria (sp?), and a possum like animal. Remember the Maid of the Mist at Niagra? Imagine that ride with an insane Argentine boat driver. They not only take you very close to the falls, they take you BENEATH one of the falls. Because it was not really very hot (probably in the upper 60's), we weren't sure that we wanted to do it. But, temptation got the best of us and we went for it - very fun...
TRAVEL--30 hours of fun when we left Iguazu. We flew back to Buenos Aires, took a 2 hours bus to the international airport, flew to Houston, waited for six hours, and flew to Mexico. Thank goodness Patrick and Jackie were there to wisk us to paradise!
CABO -- After 3 weeks of staying in hostels (all great places, but simple), we're in the lap of luxury. Our room has a beautiful view of the ocean (Iguess it's technically the sea on the east side of Baja) and there are nice pools all over the resort. We went into one of the towns today to watch the Euro 2000 soccer finals, but that about sums up our plans for the week besides laying by the pool and reading.
